Osteocephalopoda is a major clade of Netherozoa. Species in this clade have the following general traits.
- Their body is overall composed of two parts: the "head" where all the vital organs reside, and the "limbs" which are all attached at the bottom of the "head".
- Their skin, flesh, and bones can resist high temperatures
- They have sound receptors made of sensitive fibers located at the sides of the "head"
- Each appendage has a middle joint capable to be bent forwards and backwards, and four set of digits or less
- Jawless, circular mouth at the bottom of the "head"
- Males have one of their limbs (typically the middle back) serving as the genital, while females have a genital hole at the backside of the head.
This clade is further divided into two clades: Ghastia and Poekilopoda.
