Giant Ground Ghasts (Teraghast giganteus) are towering lifeforms of Netheria that dwell within the forests of Khorwik. They first appeared in The Sapients.
Biology[]
Teraghasts are colossal hexapod animals with two long middle limbs used to reach food in tall trees. They are grayish in color and have a very hard skin. They have six sets of sturdy legs built to support their massive weight. They also lumber very slowly because of this.
They reproduce by laying a lot of small egg cells, these egg cells would then develop into their larval form, which very much resembles their relatives' larval stage. Giant Ground Ghast larvae can fly with their airsac organs and fill the niche of filter feeders. After a certain point, the larvae would create a cocoon on the ground to then further transform into juveniles, which resemble the adult forms, only smaller. They have an average lifespan of 40 years.
Behavior[]
Giant Ground Ghasts are herbivorous animals, mainly browsing for shroomlights, weeping fines, and crimson fungi blocks.
Trivia[]
