Taculs (Ghastosapien tentaculum) is a sapient species of Netheria in Imperialism of Illagers series.
Biology[]
Taculs have the basic Osteocephalopod anatomy, with a large head and eight appendages attached to it. They have eyes with grey sclera and eyes of shades of red. Their nostrils are used to express emotions similarly to human lips as well as to communicate and breathe, whereas their mouths are located at the bottom of the head, used solely to eat.
Female taculs are significantly bigger with four fingers opposed to each other on each appendage, whereas males are much smaller, with shorter appendages which lack manipulators.
Society[]
During dawn of their civilization, Taculs (specifically female ones) form their own "hives", a social structure where they care, protect, and help each other and their offspring, led by a Matriarch, the strongest and most experienced one. Males, on the other hand, remain as solitary creatures with lesser intelligence. It was only much later males of the species are incorporated into the society, although they are treated as pets due to their lack of sapience and short lifespan.
Most advanced Tacul nations possess heat-based technology, which are more or less resembles heat engines in reality with some small modifications, mainly to fit their non-humanoid bodyplan.
